This was the first time I ever tabled at a comi-con in my life! It was a one of a kind experience meeting new people and finding they wanted to be a part of Smithee’s world too. I was blessed that my table was right next to my friends of the Artist’s  Comic Collective so we could pass the time together and share the enthusiasm. Being totally green, they helped me with the little things I was clueless about – like having enough change!I sold out of the Mitten-Man variants I had on hand, as well as the 1st book about tri-color photography. The night before I was given the inspiration to take pages that would have otherwise been useless and splatter them with Zombie Blood and give each customer an autographed one. I think people liked that. I also had my very-very last tri-color 1st edition copy on hand and a fellow only had a $100. So I set it aside for him and he came back with change and bought it. It was kinda funny because I had just asked Free if he ever had to break $100 – and my next customer was that guy.I still have some variants left – 10 – put of the original 25. You can see them for sale here.

It has been some kind of journey to get to my first show. So many little things that led to that event. And I’m great full for all those that came along side me and cheered me on! And look, even Spider Man and Thor liked my book! But Spidey doesn’t have pockets and couldn’t buy one. In retrospect, I should have just given it to him.

That show consumed a lot of my time and focus. Maybe now I can get back into just doing the comic…
