|The Doc likes to dress up in scary masks to intimidate his zombies. It goes
along with his grandiose ego. I just HAD to put the doc in the story somewhere,
and this was a good point. I had a totally different and boring panel of the doc
somewhat teched out, but on the last day before ‘going to press’ I saw a mask I
drew to kill time in my sketchbook and realized – that can be the Doc!!
Hello everybody!! Today I updated the banner image at the top to reflect the style change I currently use. Here is the difference.
My, what a difference 3 years of pluggin’ away at drawing day after day makes! I’m still learning to color though., but I’m
gettin’ there. I do my coloring in Manga Studio – which is like a hybrid between Photoshop and Illustrator. Like you can
scan in your wonderful hand inked art and change the layer to darken, and lay down the colors behind it and it shows thru
white parts of the inking.
The characters in the new banner are: The Evil Doc, Smithee, a zombie, Rex the dog and Billy.
Just wanted you all to be aware I’m replacing some comic images for older pages with updated images that were made for the published book. So my site might show as updated today, but it’s not for a new page.
Enjoy & survive!
|Just thought I’d share a tease for the revised Mitten Man #1 I’m working on.I’m going to redraw Mitten Man #1 with a new opening scene. MM1 starts out
kinda slow, and it’s the intro book to the Smithee universe, so I want it to be
the best it can be. I plan to have it for sale at the Vegas Valley Comic Book
Festival Nov. 1. I’ve learned a lot since I drew it 3 years ago, so why not
apply that new skill to make MM1 even better! Plus, I’m gonna take it from
Here is a doodle I did of a zombie breaking through a fence. I hand drew it and then colored it digitally in Manga Studio.
The next Smithee page is going to take longer than this week to do I expect, it being tuesday already. So I thought I’d throw you all a bone till next week.
